在高中階段採用的系統聽力訓練材料，一般分為四個方面的練習：
（1）單句練習：聽一遍句子後，迅速從書面選擇中找出同所聽句子意思相近的答案。其主要目的是培養通過聽來理解句子的意思。
（2）日常用語：聽了日常用語後，從書面選擇中找出恰當的答語。這個練習主要培養在口語中交際運用的能力。
（3）對話練習：聽到對話後，對其內容、情景、場合等作出判斷，找出正確答案。
（4）短文聽力理解：在聽的過程中，迅速理解主要內容，找出正確答案。
選用的系統聽力材料，內容最好不要超出所學詞彙和語法范圍，由淺入深，循序漸進。聽得懂，才有聽下去的興趣。聽這類材料要精聽，遇到困難的語音、詞、句可以停下錄音機，把磁帶倒回重聽，直到把全部內容聽懂理解為止；除此之外，還應選用一些其他輔助聽力材料，最好內容不要超出所學詞彙和語法范圍，由淺入深，循序漸進。聽的過程中不必停頓，聽懂大意就行。這類泛聽材料可以廣泛一些，文章、故事、對話、采訪、報告等等，凡是適合自己聽力水平的材料均可用來泛聽。
無論聽哪種材料，聽之前最好不要先看文字材料（練習除外），應先把錄音內容聽一遍，了解大意，聽的時候要集中精力，大腦的反應要盡量跟上錄音速度。
在聽的過程中常會遇到這種情況，有些詞聽上去很熟，但一下子想不起是什麼意思，或者有些詞聽上去很陌生。這時不要停下來去想，否則會影響聽下面的內容。在有問題時可回想一下，看是否能從上下文推測出其含義。再者，不必把每個詞都要弄個清清楚楚，有些並不影響理解的詞可以忽略。另外，不要聽一句，腦子里翻譯一句，要盡量做到思維跟上錄音材料的速度，聽得懂材料里說了些什麼，目的也就達到了。對於那些只有聽一次機會的聽力內容，如電視、廣播的英語節目，一開始可能聽不懂什麼，要堅持聽，只要聽個大概也就行了。

英語聽力學習：
第一：堅持聽純正的口音、地道的表達也會對自己的發音和口語有積極的幫助。
第二，所選語音材料應盡可能包羅萬象，涵蓋不同領域、不同話題，既要有正式用語，又要有日常會話，絕對不能只聽新聞英語。

第三，所選語音材料的難度應在自己的能力范圍之內，當把這些語音轉化為文字後，你應該能基本讀懂。如果讀不懂，換一段簡單點的，否則，你恐怕要白白浪費時間。只有循序漸進，逐步加大難度，才能獲得實質性的提高。

第四，所選語音材料最好是正常語速。有人練聽力喜歡從慢速英語開始，我倒覺得大可不必，只要難度在你能力范圍之內，完全可以大膽直接聽原速。事實上，我更希望說話人語速飛快，這就好比跟比你跑得快的人賽跑更容易提高一樣。

英語聽力學習：

有了語音材料，聽的時間
兩種選：一種是利用零碎時間，如吃飯時、打掃清潔時、睡覺時等，在輕松愉快的氛圍中隨意地聽。這種聽法要求你連貫地、不重復地聽取大量語音材料，不需要聽懂每一句話，只需聽個大概就行。

另一種是抽出一段專門的時間，集中精力全神貫注地去聽。這種聽法不要求你聽太多的內容，但務必要聽懂每一句話，把握每一個細節。由於我們與生俱來的惰性，大多數人會選擇前者。一邊享受美食，一邊練聽力，一舉兩得嘛，何必非要綳緊神經，絞盡腦汁地去聽呢。起初，我也這么想，可後來實踐證明，這種做法效果並不理想。我發現自己很難做到一心二用，當我吃飯時、打掃清潔時，我會一門心思撲在這件事上，至於收音機里講了些什麼，我是一概聽不進去的。如果是睡覺時聽，又往往聽不了幾句就會進入夢鄉。相比之下，後一種聽法雖然難度很大，實施過程十分痛苦，但只要咬牙堅持，將會在短時間內收到十分顯著的效果。我是這樣做的：選定一段語音材料，先完整地聽一遍，盡量聽懂主要意思，然後再逐句反復播放，必須聽懂每一個單詞，一遍不行十遍，十遍不行一百遍，直到聽懂為止。

注意事項：
無論是口語還是聽力，都要堅持不懈，希望可以通過自己的努力，達到學習英語的目的。
