Life of nelson Mandela 曼德拉於1990年成為南非第一任總統，
1488年葡萄牙航海家迪亞斯首次到達好望角。1652年荷蘭東印度公司在開普地區
建立第一個殖民地。1795年英國佔領開普殖民地。1814年根據維也納條約開普地區成
為英國殖民地。荷裔布爾人被迫「大遷徒」，於1852年和1854年先後建立「奧蘭治自
由邦」和「德蘭士瓦共和國」。1867年和1886年南非發現鑽石和黃金後，歐洲移民蜂
擁而至。1899年英、荷殖民者為爭奪對南非的控制權，爆發了「英布戰爭」。1902年
英殖民者打敗布爾人，吞並了「德蘭士瓦共和國」和「奧蘭治自由邦」。不久英國准
許其成立自治政府。1910年5月英國將開普省、納塔爾省、奧蘭治自由邦和德蘭士瓦
省4個屬地合並組成「南非聯邦」，成為英國的自治領地。1948年國民黨開始執政並
統治南非至今。國民黨執政後，實行種族隔離政策。1934年6月南非獲得獨立，為英
邦成員國。1961年5月31日，南非退出英聯邦，成立南非共和國。南非是目前世界上
唯一推行種族隔離制度的國家。南非政府為實施某種族隔離制度，已建立了10個「黑
人家園」(即班圖斯坦)，佔全國總面積的13%。迄今為止，特蘭斯凱、博普塔茨瓦納、
文達和西斯凱4個「黑人家園」已先後於1976年、1977年、1979年和1981年取得「獨
立國家」稱號，但在國際上未得到任何國家承認。
