The Teacher-Student RelationshipA good teacher-student relationship will make learning enjoyable and interesting for the students and teaching worth-while for a teacher.To set up a good teacher-student relationship, a teacher's behaviour is important. The teacher should motivate the students so that they want to learn. A good teacher should be patient, friendly and strict. Remember not to encourage the students by pushing or forcing them. Being too friendly may cause students to become lazy and stop working hard. On the other hand, being too strict may frighten the students. So a teacher should avoid going extremes in treating his students. And teachers should encourage the students to think independently and learn to study by themselves.As for the students, they must always respect their teachers. Students should be eager to learn and willing to work hard. It's important to listen with attention in class and it's more important to learn to raise questions and work out problems in new ways.In conclusion, a good teacher-student relation-ship can be mutually beneficial. The students gain knowledge eagerly and enjoyably and the teacher gains satisfaction from his job.
Daylight dies away when the sun sets.
is snowing in great flakes. When I put out my hand from the window a piece of snowflake falls on the centre of my palm.
Peering at her thaw , I feel her permeating into my body bit by bit .I think from here on my heart should be her eternal terminus. I don』t know whether this heavey snow is caused by your missing . How are you doing ?In the real deep night of the
soul all the stars are hiding behind the clouds and licking their wounds silently . Do you also sigh for the fading away of all memory of the past ?
Is the color of butterfly bright in your hometown ? The shower , which is spattering on your face in winter should be called the sleet , shouldn』t it ? and moreover, what should the butterfly , which is struggling against sleet be called ? Do you
think whether she has enred suffering quietly for the sweetness at the last moment ? when she is fluttering in front of you. Do you feel heartbreaking when she is acting in a play and dragging her injured wings . The wind has blown the promise off , however , that gust of wind hasn』t puffed the performance away , which merely belongs to herself. She inlges heself in dancing into the abyss of darkness, going round and round , going round and round .
She is a sweet surrender .
She is fit for being kept in mind .
(二)
Baby , it's raining here. I sit by the window, listening the music and missing you . I hear the voice of rain.it seems as if someone is crying. When will it stop ? Only the alone one can know the mood of the rain.
You took me to the edge of the heaven yesterday . But you rob me of my wings today and let me stand on the ground solely. When I see a view of your back , can you listen my heartfelt prayer?
Your smile are partly hidden and partly visible in the wind. Closing my eyes, I try to pursue the echoes of your voices. You occupy my every day's dream that tears come to my heart.

--Henry Wadsworth Longfellow 亨利.沃茲渥斯.朗費羅
The day is cold,and dark,and dreary;
It rains,and the wind is never weary;
The vine still clings to the moldering wall,
But at every gust the dead leaves fall,
And the day is dark and dreary.
My life is cold and dark and dreary;
It rains and the wind is never weary;
My though still cling to the moldering past,
But the hopes of youth fall thick in the blast,
And the days are dark and dreary.
Be still,sad heart!And cease repining;
Behind the clouds is the sun still shining;
Thy fate is the common fate of all,
Into each life some rain must fall,
Some days must be dark and dreary.
天冷、陰暗、沉悶;
下著雨,風也刮個不停;
我的生活寒冷、陰郁、沉悶;
下著雨,風也刮個不停;
安靜吧,憂傷的心!別再悔恨;
烏雲後面太陽依然輝煌燦爛;
Henry David Thoreau/享利.
However mean your life is,meet it and live it ;do not shun it and call it hard names.It is not so bad as you are.It looks poorest when you are richest.The fault-finder will find faults in paradise.Love your life,poor as it is.You may perhaps have some pleasant,thrilling,glorious hourss,even in a poor-house.The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the alms-house as brightly as from the rich man's abode;the snow melts before its door as early in the spring.I do not see but a quiet mind may live as contentedly there,and have as cheering thoughts,as in a palace.The town's poor seem to me often to live the most independent lives of any.May be they are simply great enough to receive without misgiving.Most think that they are above being supported by the town;but it often happens that they are not above supporting themselves by dishonest means.which should be more disreputable.Cultivate poverty like a garden herb,like sage.Do not trouble yourself much to get new things,whether clothes or friends,Turn the old,return to them.Things do not change;we change.Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts.
Love's Witness
Slight unpremeditated Words are borne
By every common Wind into the Air;
Carelessly utter'd, die as soon as born,
And in one instant give both Hope and Fear:
Breathing all Contraries with the same Wind
According to the Caprice of the Mind.
But Billetdoux are constant Witnesses,
Substantial Records to Eternity;
Just Evidences,who the Truth confess,
On which the Lover safely may rely;
They're serious Thoughts,digested and resolv'd;
And last,when Words are into Clouds devolv'd.
被每一次平凡的呼吸載入空氣;
直至永恆的實體記錄;
戀人能在其上安心依附;
它們是嚴肅的思想,經過深思熟慮;

We Never Told Him He Couldn't Do It
My son Joey was born with club feet. The doctors assured us that with treatment he would be able to walk normally - but would never run very well. The first three years of his life were spent in surgery, casts and braces. By the time he was eight, you wouldn't know he had a problem when you saw him walk .
The children in our neighborhood ran around as most children do ring play, and Joey would jump right in and run and play, too. We never told him that he probably wouldn't be able to run as well as the other children. So he didn't know.
In seventh grade he decided to go out for the cross-country team. Every day he trained with the team. He worked harder and ran more than any of the others - perhaps he sensed that the abilities that seemed to come naturally to so many others did not come naturally to him. Although the entire team runs, only the top seven runners have the potential to score points for the school. We didn't tell him he probably would never make the team, so he didn't know.
He continued to run four to five miles a day, every day - even the day he had a 103-degree fever. I was worried, so I went to look for him after school. I found him running all alone. I asked him how he felt. "Okay," he said. He had two more miles to go. The sweat ran down his face and his eyes were glassy from his fever. Yet he looked straight ahead and kept running. We never told him he couldn't run four miles with a 103-degree fever. So he didn't know.
Two weeks later, the names of the team runners were called. Joey was number six on the list. Joey had made the team. He was in seventh grade - the other six team members were all eighth-graders. We never told him he shouldn't expect to make the team. We never told him he couldn't do it. We never told him he couldn't do it...so he didn't know. He just did it.

Author: Samuel Ullman
Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind;
it is not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees;
it is a matter of the will, a quality of the imagination,
a vigor of the emotions; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life.
而是深沉的意志,恢宏的想像,炙熱的戀情;
Youth means a tempera-mental predominance of courage over timidity,
of the appetite for adventure over the love of ease.
This often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20.
Nobody grows old merely by a number of years.
We grow old by deserting our ideals.
Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul.
Worry, fear, self-distrust bows the heart and turns the spring back to st.
Whether 60 or 16,
there is in every human being』s heart the lure of wonder,
the unfailing childlike appetite of what』s next and the joy of
the game of living.
In the center of your heart and my heart there is a wireless station:
so long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage
and power from men and from the Infinite, so long are you young.
When the aerials are down,
and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism
and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old, even at 20,
but as long as your aerials are up, to catch waves of optimism,
there is hope you may die young at 80.
vThe smile "I was sure that I was to be killed.I became terribly nervous.I fumbled[1] in my pockets to see if there were any cigarettes,which had escaped[2]their search.I found one and because of my shaking hands,I could barely get it to my lips.But I had no matches,they had taken those."I looked through the bars at my jailer.He did not make eye contact with me.I called out to him 'Have you got a light?' He looked at me,shrugged [3]and came over to light my cigarette."As he came close and lit the match,his eyes inadvertently locked with mine.At that moment,I smiled.I don't know why I did that.Perhaps it was nervousness,perhaps it was because,when you get very close,one to another,it is very hard not to smile.In any case,I smiled.In that instant,it was as though a spark jumped across the gap between our two hearts,our two human souls.I know he didn't want to,but my smile leaped through the bars and generated a smile on his lips,too.He lit my cigarette but stayed near,looking at me directly in the eyes and continuing to smile."I kept smiling at him,now aware of him as a person and not just a jailer.And his looking at me seemed to have a new dimension[4] too.'Do you have kids?' he asked." 'Yes,here,here.' I took out my wallet and nervously fumbled for the pictures of my family.He,too,took out the pictures of his family and began to talk about his plans and hopes for them.My eyes filled with tears.I said that I feared that I'd never see my family again,never have the chance to see them grow up.Tears came to his eyes,too."Suddenly,without another word,he unlocked my cell and silently led me out.Out of the jail,quietly and by back routes,out of the town.There,at the edge of town,he released me.And without another word,he turned back toward the town."My life was saved by a smile." Yes,the smile―the unaffected,unplanned,natural connection between people..I really believe that if that part of you and that part of me could recognize each other,we wouldn't be enemies.We couldn't have hate or envy or fear.

A group of frogs was traveling through the woods and two of themfell into a deep pit. Immediately, all the other frogs in the groupgathered around the pit and watched as the imprisoned frogs tried tojump out. The frogs on top could see that the pit was very deep and itlooked as if there was no way out, so they started yelling at the twofrogs in the pit to give up. "The pit is too deep. You're as good asdead," the chorus of frogs said. When the trapped frogs kept trying,the crowd yelled louder, "Give up. You're as good as dead." After awhile, one of the exhausted frogs took heed to what the others weresaying, and fell down and died.
But amazingly, the second frog kept jumping as hard as she coulddespite the negative remarks of those that kept yelling at her toaccept the inevitable and just die. Finally, with one valiant leap, shemade it out of the pit!
This amazing result occurred because the second frog was deaf annable to hear what the others had been saying. She thought they hadbeen cheering her on the entire time they were yelling! What she hadmistakenly perceived as encouragement inspired her to try harder andsucceed against all odds. And that made all the difference!
With a positive mindset, and being deaf to others' opinions, thesecond frog made use of such negativity to overcome obstacles and reachher goals by using it as encouragement, instead of being influenced byothers like the first frog, who failed to develop her potential tostrive for survival. Thus, when we surmount others' criticism, ridiculeor cynical comments, we can do anything we set our minds to, just asthe second frog did. But, if we are not deaf like this frog, who couldnot be influenced by others e to a physical condition, we need the Wisdom to guide us to the proper way, so as not to be blindly guided byworldly opinion.

There was a young flower in the desert where all was dry and sad looking…… It was growing by itself…… enjoying every day…… and saying to the sun "When shall I be grown up?" And the sun would say "Be patient - Each time I touch you, you grow a little……" She was so pleased. Because she would have a chance to bring beauty to this corner of sand…… And this is all she wanted to do - bring a little bit of beauty to this world.
One day the hunter came by - and stepped on her. - She was going to die - and she felt so sad. Not because she was dying - but because she would not have a chance to bring a little bit of beauty to this corner of the desert.
The great spirit saw her, and was listening. - Indeed, he said…… She should be living…… And he reached down and touched her - and gave her life.

a wild guess
Our physics professor was sruggling to draw the class into discussion of Archiimede's principe of water displacement. He told us that Archimede noticed that when he got into a pool at the public bathhouse, the water rose spilling over the edge. One student stood up and answered ,I'm naked! l'm naked!"
