First of all,I think we should memorize as much words as possible,especially their pronuoncation.Only then can we realize what exactly the word is when we hear a tape.Then we should do practice as much as we can.For example,we could listen to the English videos,songsas well as watching English movies.In that way,we can practice our listening skills and improve it.What's more,we can also do some listening exercises.Ask ourselves some questions about the passage we hear,so we can get a better understanding of the passage and get more information from the passage.
That's the way to improve our English listening skills in my opinion.
