I brought the list back to Daddy. He refused to take it.“That’s just for you,” he said.“You know better than anyone else the truth about yourself. But you have to learn to listen, not just close your ears in anger and feeling hurt. When something said about you is true, you’ll find it will be of help to you. Our world is full of people who think they know your ty. Don’t shut your ears. Listen to them all, but hear the truth and do what you know is the right thing to do.”
Daddy’s advice has returned to me at many important moments. In my life, I’ve never had a better piece of advice.

首先，看第一段最后一句：This Father’s Day, while you’re showing respect to your dad, remember some of the best dads in the world can also be found in the animal kingdom. 在今天这个父亲节里，当你向你的父亲表达敬意的时候，也请你想一想在这个世界上的好父亲同样也可以在动物王国里找到。

当作者说这番话的时候，其实就暗含了一个意思：我们尊敬我们的父亲，但是忽略了那些动物们。
